I met Francis while working at HD Supply. That was also the time I became inspired to create Captured Proposals by Jessica Hannon Photography. That was two years ago. Francis and I had many conversations about him proposing to his lovely girlfriend Roxy. He also told me (two years ago) that he wanted me to capture the moments when he asked her. Of course I was ecstatic and couldn’t wait. This past spring, Francis called to ask if I wanted to help him ring shop for Roxy, of course I said I’d love to. After we visited several jewelry stores we made a second round at Robbins Brothers and Francis picked the perfect ring for Roxy. It wasn’t an easy choice, there were over 30 cases full of beautiful sparkly rings. You’ll see the winner later. One weekend I get a call from Francis. He’s ready to pop the question! We come up with a plan on how he can propose to Roxy without my presence being a dead give away. So we told her that my family session that day had canceled and I was that they would be willing to model for me. She totally bought it. We met up and spent the evening in La Jolla at Windan Sea Beach snapping some fun photos. Just as the sun was starting to set, I knew my que. I excused myself as I had a “camera emergency” and headed up the bluff to go to the car. Little did Roxy know I was actually heading to my spot behind the palm trees, capturing the moment that Francis asked her to be his wife.
